Refurbishment FAQs
We have taken your questions about the upcoming refurbishments and S1 2026 re-signs on onboard and answered as many as we can here. If your question is not here, don’t be shy, come and ask us. We want you to have as much information as possible to help you decide what will be best for you over this period.
I would like to re-apply for next year, when can I do that?
You will be able to re-apply from 17 September to 1 October 2025. During this time, you can:
- log into your Iglu account
- click on “Application”
- choose your preferred option (22 weeks or 44 weeks)
It’s very important that you only choose one of the two contract lengths and do not submit multiple applications. Your new contract will start on 20 February 2025.
If I re-apply, will I get to stay in my current room?
If this is your preference, we encourage you to re-apply before 1 October 2025. Once we receive your application, we will send out your new offer which you will need to accept. Please also come and see us at the front to let us know this is your preference.
I live in a superior studio; can I leave my belongings in my room?
Even though your room is not being refurbished, all doors are being painted so we will need access to your room for this. Moving boxes will be provided and your belongings will be stored in a secure location.
Will you be offering any reimbursements?
You will receive a rent reduction for each night your room is impacted by the refurbishments.
Are shared apartments affected? If so, how?
Yes, share apartments are affected. While they are not being upgraded, there will be no access to these apartments while the corridors are being refurbished.
I would like to organise my own storage, can you recommend somewhere local?
We can recommend contacting Kennards Self Storage in Ultimo. They offer flexible storage solutions and you can contact them directly to arrange temporary storage.
